Somewhere along the way, this crossword lost every one of its clues. It feels terrible about it. As an apology, it has agreed to tell you the truth — one rule at a time.

Pick any word in the grid and guess it Wordle-style. Solve one, and its letters bleed into the words it crosses — and the grid confesses a hint: a rule that is true of every word on the page. "No word contains the letter E." "Exactly three words repeat a letter." That kind of truth. Cryptic, but never a liar.

Fewer guesses, higher score. Miss six times and the grid takes pity on you with a free letter. It's not a reward. Don't treat it like one.
